What is dorje and vajra? Dorje is a ritual tool and spiritual implement which is symbolically used by Buddhism, Jainism, and Hinduism, all of which are traditions of Dharma. It is also called Vajra in Sanskrit, which means diamond or thunderbolt in Tibetan Buddhism. This is because it symbolizes a tool, as hard as the diamond or as powerful as the thunderbolt, that can cut through ignorance, delusion, greed, anger, and impurities of the mind . It is also believed to represent the firmness of spirit and spiritual power. Dorje and the bell The Dorje is often used together with a bell during ritual and meditation, especially at the beginning of a chanting session to clear the mind and bring focus. Always hold the bell in the left hand and the Dorje in the right. Ring the bell with your left hand or you can also strike it with the Dorje. The gentle sound of the bell fills the air, clearing the space and fostering harmony. Where do you place and work with a Dorje? Living Room - Dorje and bell have an irreplaceable role in Tibetan Buddhism. Some Buddhists perform ritual at home, they may place dorje at their sacred altar and work with it during their meditation and chanting. Even if you are not a Buddhist, Dorje decorations can be a part of your Tibetan home collections, as well as Thangka Painting, Damaru (drum), and prayer wheel. They work great in a pyramid-shaped Orgonite. Then, enhance its protective properties by using pure copper ie. copper spirals / thick layers of copper shavings. Here are some crystal combinations if you're lacking ideas: Tiger's Eye and Jasper offer courage and inner strength to pursue your goals and dreams. Q: Hi, I am a beginner, what can I make with these materials? ⁣ A: For those who are new to orgonite, it would be easier to start with the small ones, such as pendants and pocket discs! Keep in mind a 1:1 ratio of crystals to metals / 1:1 ratio of metals to resin. There three primary materials - crystal, metal, resin. With these things, you can make a basic Orgonite. You may add whatever you need based on your design. Feel free to consider a small portion of filling materials, including decorative metals, gold foils, natural shells, dried flowers, and others. It would be easier to measure the materials by their volume. This is because the density of each material is different, and their shape may not cover a full layer. If you are aiming for accuracy in the ratio, choose pure copper instead of brass. Choose solid metal ball instead of ball drilled with a hole. Choose small pieces of metals or powder form instead of larger pieces. Tips to use the resin You can easily purchase resin from local shops or find it at a lower price on online platforms like Amazon and eBay. Get yourself a pair of gloves to protect your hands and cover your desk with a large paper or plastic sheet. Most resins consist of two parts, labeled as part A and part B. Mix them together according to the ratio written on the package , and be sure to measure accurately. Gently stir the mixture in a clockwise direction until it's well combined. Wooden sticks or silicone bowls are your friends. Let the mixture cool for about 2 minutes before moving on to make your orgonite. The bubbles will naturally disappear within a few minutes. To help eliminate air bubbles , gently tap the bottom of your bowl several times, similar to what you'd do when baking a cake. If needed, use a flame gun to burst any remaining bubbles. Wipe out the excess resin on the molds, table, or arms with a paper towel. Q: Is it alright not to add crystals? Yes, it is possible to create orgonites without using crystals. Some orgonite makers may choose to focus solely on metals and resin. This doesn't impact the ability to generate orgone energy. Instead of plastic decorations and artificial paints, you might want to add shungite, copper coils, tensor rings, and iron oxide to enhance the energy amplification. Q: Why is copper frequently added in Orgonites? Copper is one of the most effective energy conductors. Crystals absorb and store the energy from the universe, while copper can carry crystal energies to the next level. Not only it amplifies the energy produced by the crystals but also directs the flow of the energy. When copper is completely immersed in resin, you no longer have to worry about deformation and corrosion. Tensor ring is one of the popular copper materials used in orgonites. By twisting copper wire tightly, the roll creates a flow of light and energy. Some brilliant artists may use twisted wires to present a multifaceted geometric symbol. Q: What other metals can be added into orgonites? The yellowish copper is brass. Brass is made up of two components: copper and zinc, with copper making up around 50-70% of the total. The silver-colored metal is stainless steel. It often comes in wires, which is good to make necklaces. Aluminum is a controversial substance that has been considered to be unsafe to human bodies. However, some reiki healers and orgonite creators claimed that aluminum is very safe to use. When you see a orgonite contain blue and green wire, 50 50 chance you are seeing aluminum wire. If you feel concerned about it, it is always better to do some research before diy, or use copper/titanium/steel instead. Q: What metal powder should I use? Metal powders can be blended with epoxy resin to produce a solid metal layer. Some people use acrylic paint for vibrant colors, such as sky blue and light green, however, you never know what is added inside the paint. Hence, I recommend using Shungite for a striking black metal layer at the pyramid's base. Also, Iron Oxide powder is a great choice, its color is relatively softer than Shungite. The original iron oxide powder is mixed with different metals (chemical reaction) to create brighter colors like red and yellow. You know, it's all about enjoying the DIY process. Whenever I'm making orgonites, time just slips away, and I find myself immersed in a world of imagination, light, and peace. Just relax and have fun with all the materials. What is a Dragon Bone Stone? Dragon Bone Stone, also known as the Dragon Pattern Stone, is a type of stone unique to Taiwan (to present understanding, though other similar sources of similar materials may exist), almost unknown in the anglosphere due to their limited availability and natural resistance to mass production. Rumor has it that these stones were first collected by the Bunun people, the first known ‘indigenous’ inhabitants of Taiwan in our present understanding of history. In fact, Bunun rock-hounds remain a substantial source for these stones as in 1999, the “921 Earthquake” cut off access to the primary mine available to produce these stones in mass. Now they must be collected from riverbeds, sometimes with difficulty and danger, and thus they cannot be mass-produced or mined in large volumes to fill gem stores as with displays of material (unlike ‘Himalayan’ Pink Salt, Brazilian amethyst Geodes etc.). There are enthusiast groups who go looking for these stones, much as a hobbyist gold-prospector might do in the United States for amusement. Where do they come from? In which river beds might you look for these stones? From internet copypasta: “Dragon Bone Stone can be found on the riverbeds of Zhuo-Shui Xi (also known as: Cho-Shui Xi, the River of Turbidity, 濁水溪) and Laui-Lon Xi (Mustard Thick River, 荖濃溪)”. Like Lapis Lazuli or Tiger Iron, Dragon Pattern Stone consists of 3 distinct component materials preferably found together in one sample, though monolithic samples of just one material are certainly not uncommon. Again, some samples are primarily or completely a single-phase (i.e. all metal or all stone). These may still be of interest for some purposes, but lack the 3-part character and charm of proper samples. The 3 component materials are described as: Metallic phase (described as ‘gold’, 金) - The source of the name. After polishing, the metallic component is described as “bright and dazzling, like the scales of a dragon”, giving the ‘dragon pattern’ to the material. The composition of this phase almost certainly varies from piece to piece, as some are more gold/yellow or more silver/white in coloration, and has been stated to include the following: Gold, Copper, Iron, Nickel, etc. Specific compositional data may be available, but these reports are difficult for the author to find presently. Bears some resemblance to pyrite, but this has not been confirmed rigorously. Typically some degree of oxidation is present in the raw state. Stone (石) - The dark grey gange rock around the metal, reported as a type of slate or shale. Polishing helps to produce a consistent, dark, background substrate for the jade and metal. Jade (玉) - A boundary material between the metal and stone, here typically white to yellow to orange as opposed to the typical greens hues associated with Jade, it seems to be found between the metallic and stone components in variable and limited amounts, with some regions seemingly showing no Jade at all. Chemical analysis and microstructural comparison with other types of ‘jade’ (often a catch-all term) remain to be seen.
